My bike
An old bike for a long tour, is it a good idea?
The bike I got from my neighbour about five years ago when I was living in Greenford. I found it funny when he asked me, “Fancy this bike?” showing me a frame hanging on the fence. I looked at him in astonishment. Sensing my reaction, he said that the bike was really excellent and that the other parts were kept at home. The assembly took fifteen minutes and I have been riding it ever since, for which I owe it a big thanks.
I have always appreciated the quality of finish from the craftsmen of bygone days. The older things are, the better, just like wine…
I wouldn’t have even considered buying a new one, not to mention the finances…
